A perfect leisurely day course from Gangneung Station to Gyeongpo Lake

There are many ways to get to Gyeongpo Lake from Gangneung Station, both by public transportation and by car. You can get to Gyeongpo Lake in about 30 minutes by taking bus number 202 from Gangneung Station. Since buses run relatively frequently, you can travel without any problems according to the schedule. By car, you can get to Gyeongpo Lake by taking Gyeonggang-ro from Gangneung Station for about 15 minutes. We recommend stopping by Gyeongpodae or a nearby cafe before you arrive at the lake while enjoying a leisurely drive. Gyeongpo Lake is one of Gangneung’s representative natural landscapes, a famous spot where a beautiful lake and lush forests surround it. Since it is adjacent to Gyeongpodae, you can enjoy nature, history, and culture all at once. The circumference of Gyeongpo Lake is about 4km, and the walking trail is well-maintained, making it a great place to take a leisurely walk and enjoy the tranquil scenery of the lake. In particular, Gyeongpo Lake is famous as a place where migratory birds gather, so you can see various types of birds in the winter. In spring, cherry blossoms decorate the lakeside area beautifully, which in itself is a great attraction for travelers.

When I visited, it was early autumn, and the quiet atmosphere of Gyeongpoho was really impressive. I liked being able to spend some quiet time walking around the lake. I especially felt more secluded when I visited on a weekday when there were no tourists. If you walk a little from Gyeongpodae, you will reach the lake, and I can't forget the time I took a break on the small bench at the end of the path and felt the autumn breeze. This place, which has different charms in each season, is a place you won't regret visiting no matter when you visit.
