Ganzhou's old city area boasts the Wei Family Mansion, a residence that has withstood over 200 years of history and spans three streets. It is the largest existing Qing Dynasty urban family dwelling in Ganzhou city and represents the distinctive 'nine wells and eighteen halls' architectural style of the southern Hakka people. It's a popular tourist spot in the old city of Ganzhou.
The mansion consists of five residential buildings, one ancestral hall, two granaries, two traditional Meng schools, and one modern school. The main buildings cover an area of more than 3,000 square meters, with the ancestral hall, schools, and other auxiliary buildings, the total area exceeds 18,000 square meters. The mansion's architecture features firewalls made of water-ground blue bricks, carefully selected materials for the beams, and meticulously crafted construction. Exquisite eave decorations and beautifully crafted wooden window lattices can be seen everywhere. With its ornate beams and painted rafters, the mansion exudes an extraordinary presence and is known as the 'number one Hakka mansion'.
For those interested in ancient architectural culture and preservation, remember to check in at the Wei Family Mansion.
