First Time Hiking – Thrills & Chills at Mount Papandayan 🏔️✨

#adventuremoments
My very first hiking and camping experience at Mount Papandayan was a mix of excitement, exhaustion, and unforgettable memories. Located in Garut, about a 2-hour drive from Bandung 🚐, Papandayan turned out to be the perfect mountain for a first-timer like me.

The hike itself took around 2 hours — and trust me, it wasn’t easy carrying a 10 kg backpack filled with tents and camping gear. 💪 By the time we reached the campsite, all I wanted to do was drop the bag, set up the tent, and rest. But here’s the fun part: cooking our own meals with simple supplies we brought along. Somehow, food always tastes better when you make it in the mountains! 🍲🔥

The next morning, we hiked to the summit, wandered through the Dead Forest, admired the mystical edelweiss field, and marveled at the sulfur crater. 🌸⛰️ The scenery was surreal — it felt like stepping into another world.

By noon, it was time to pack up and head down before sunset. Hiking back down with heavy loads for 2–3 hours was tough, but the views and experiences made every step worth it.

For beginners, Mount Papandayan is actually quite friendly — yes, there are even toilets around the camping area (a big relief for first-timers! 😅).

👉 Tips for hiking Papandayan:

Bring enough food and supplies.

Don’t forget your warm jacket 🧥 (it gets really cold at night).

Always carry your trash back down — let’s keep the mountains clean. 🌿

Hiking Papandayan showed me that adventure might be tiring, but it always makes life brighter and way more fun. ✨🌍 #adventuremoments #papandayan #hiking #gunungpapandayan #beautiful_indonesia
