Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park is the first marine national park in Malaysia. It consists of five islands: Gaya, Sapi, Mamutik, Manukan and Sulug. Snorkeling in Sapi and Mamutik is recommended. To get to these islands, you can join a one-day or half-day island hopping tour from Jesselton Point Pier in Kota Kinabalu. If you want to stay on an island and slowly enjoy the beaches of the outer islands of Kota Kinabalu, there are also hotels to choose from on Manukan Island. Although the sea water is definitely not as clear as that of the outer islands farther away, such as Pulau Mantanani and Pulau Mermaid, it is close to the city. You can see tropical fish and corals in the shallow waters not too far from the shore on the island, so it is also a good place for snorkeling with your children.
✅Ferry address: Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal, Jln Haji Saman, 88000 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
