Charming little church by the cliff

#mediterranean #liguria #italy

The Church of St. Anthony in Boccadasse is small, but it feels like the heart of the little village. It sits right by the bay, almost touching the beach, so when you step outside you’re immediately back in the colorful chaos of fishermen’s houses and people strolling along the shore. Inside, the church is simple but warm, with maritime touches that remind you how closely tied Boccadasse has always been to the sea.

What I liked most was the atmosphere — locals popping in briefly, tourists curious to look around, and the sound of waves just outside the door. It’s not a grand monument, but it fits perfectly with the character of the village. Visiting it makes you feel connected to Boccadasse’s everyday life, past and present.
