Respledent Burmese temple in George Town

The Dhammikarama Burmese Temple is located in 24, Jalan Burma, Pulau Tikus, George Town, Pulau Pinang. It's the sole and oldest Malaysian Burmese temple in the state.
The oldest portion of temple was consecrated in 1803, on land donated by Nyonya Betong, one of its many woman patrons. The resplendent outer stupa which was constructed in 1838, together with the ceremonial hall guarded by a pair of stone elephants. Numerous statues of the Buddha, mythical figures and religious icons dot the spacious compound, much of which were later additions. Among them are bell-bearing acolytes, myriad buddhas, chimeras and flying beings.
The temple allows visitors to explore the magnificent Burmese architecture and carvings, or even admire the paintings about Buddha’s life story.
