The Edison Hotel in Penang is a boutique hotel renovated from a century-old mansion (built in 1906). Underneath its pure white European exterior, it retains the original atrium courtyard, exuding an antique charm that at first glance might be mistaken for a museum.
The hotel is conveniently located opposite the former residence of Cheong Fatt Tze, the richest man in Southeast Asia, known as the Blue Mansion. It is within easy walking distance to everywhere. Close to the Red Garden Food Paradise and Chulia Street Night Market, you'll never run out of food options.
The hotel's interior has been refurbished, with high ceilings that make for a comfortable and clean living space. The decor is exquisitely elegant, especially the staircases, which are incredibly photogenic. The lounge offers complimentary snacks and a welcome glass of red wine.
The most affordable deluxe room with a large bed for two, including breakfast, costs about 4000 New Taiwan Dollars; even the most expensive suite, which is 60 square meters and includes breakfast for two, is only a little over 6000 New Taiwan Dollars, making the prices quite reasonable.
