Penang: Hot weather, hotter food, and zero regrets

Went for food trip and somehow ended up in a full-blown love affair… with pasembor and tandoori chicken. 💘

First stop: Gurney Drive — for that glorious Penang Pasembor. A chaotic masterpiece of shredded cucumber, fried beancurd, potatoes, prawn fritters, and hard-boiled egg all swimming in that thick, sweet-spicy peanut sauce.
Messy? Yes.
Healthy? Debatable.
Worth it? A hundred times yes.

Then off to Restoran Kapitan, where the Tandoori Chicken with Cheese Naan nearly brought tears to my eyes. Charred to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavour — honestly, I’m not sure if it was dinner or a religious experience. 🥹🔥

Penang isn’t just a destination, it’s a flavour-packed adventure with every corner offering something addictive. You walk it off, just to eat again.

Moral of the story: Don’t wear tight pants when you visit Penang. 😅

☀️ Verdict: 35°C heat, 90% humidity, and still… I’d do it all over again. Because Penang food is that powerful.
My pores are open, my stomach is full, and my heart? Deep-fried in ghee and sambal.
