Snorkeling is a must during summer — and definitely one of my favorite beach activities!
Lucky for us, Indonesia is a snorkeling paradise with countless stunning beaches, especially in the eastern part of the country. 🌊🐠

Here are some of my favorite snorkeling spots in Indonesia:

✨ Eastern Indonesia:

Pink Beach, NTT – where I swam with stingrays!

Derawan, Kalimantan – unforgettable experience seeing turtles and majestic manta rays 🐢

Gili Islands – Trawangan, Air, Meno… can’t pick a favorite! Snorkeling here is always magical — you might even spot Nemo (clownfish) swimming among the sea anemones 🐠💛

Crystal Bay, Nusa Penida – great visibility and vibrant coral reefs

Komodo Islands – wild, raw beauty

Raja Ampat – still on my bucket list... one day! 💙

🌴 Western Indonesia (Java & Sumatra area):
Pahawang, Lampung – calm, clear waters, beautiful sea anemones

Pulau Seribu – especially Pulau Air and Sepa, one of the best near Jakarta

Pulau Weh, Aceh – also on my dream list!

One of my best snorkeling moments? Swimming with stingless jellyfish, clown fish, sea turtles, manta rays, and even stingrays. Truly unforgettable!

💡 Snorkeling Tip:
Avoid planning trips to eastern Indonesia during October to January — it’s rainy season, and waves can be rough.
The best time to go? April to September — sunny skies, calm waters, and perfect conditions for underwater adventures!
