Exhausted but worth it

ROYS PEAK 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿

Located in Wanaka, this trekking route is considered one of New Zealand's iconic trails and a dream destination for many travelers. But let me tell you, it's quite a challenge!✌🏻

The round-trip distance is 16 KM, and it supposedly takes about 5-6 hours to complete (at least that's what they say). However, for me, 5-6 hours is not enough. For someone like me, it took a solid 9 hours! 😂

I started my hike at 9:40 AM and reached the summit after 5 hours. It felt like climbing Phu Kradueng all over again, taking breaks here and there. I was so exhausted and thought about giving up multiple times, even asking my companion, "Why did I put myself through this?" 😂

But in the end, I kept going. When I finally reached the summit, I was on the verge of tears. The exhaustion, the fatigue, and the breathtaking view made it all so worth it.

On the way down, I aimed to reach the parking lot by 5 PM. However, about 2 kilometers from the end, I had a little encounter with a black cow. We locked eyes, and it seemed like it was about to charge at me. Startled, I twisted my ankle and had to hobble my way down. By the time I reached the parking lot, it was nearly 7 PM.

In total, I spent 9 hours on this trail, but it was absolutely worth it.
