A hidden ancient village in Zhengzhou that even locals don't know about

What comes to mind when you think of Zhengzhou? Is it the towering "Big Corn" building, the vibrant university town, the culturally rich Dahecun Ruins, the lush Zhengzhou Forest, or the rippling Beilong Lake? There's a hidden ancient village in Zhengzhou that even locals don't know about. Curious? You might be wondering where this hidden ancient village is and what unique scenery it has to offer. Today, let's explore Haishangqiao Village together. Haishangqiao Village is located in the eastern part of Gongyi, Zhengzhou, Henan Province, 3 km from the city center. It covers an area of 4.8 square kilometers and has 667 households with a total population of 2,559. According to the village's stone inscriptions, there is a spring in the western valley of Haishangqiao Village that never dries up, known as the "Sea Eye." The spring water gathers in a pool in the valley, with a green hue. Fish, shrimp, and river mussels often swim in the pool, so people built a bridge over the pool for residents to cross and farm. The bridge was called "Haishangqiao" (Bridge on the Sea), and the village was named after it. However, over time, the spring and bridge have disappeared.
