Valley of Love: A Place Where Nature Decided to Play a Joke

Cappadocia has many valleys—pink, dove, monk. But none evokes as many smiles as Love Valley.
Standing among the stone pillars stretching upward, the first thing that comes to mind is that nature was clearly in a playful mood.
Tall, smooth, with rounded tops, the rocks here seem to have been carved from a single template.
This was once soft tuff, eroded by centuries of wind, rain, and lava. The result is shapes that are hard to miss.
📍 Location: Between Göreme and Uchisar, Cappadocia, Turkey.
🕐 When to go: Morning or sunset—the light turns the rocks pink, making the valley look especially fantastic.
⸻
How to get there (current as of 2025)
🚶 On foot:
From Göreme, follow a trail, approximately 3 km one way. The road goes through vineyards and comes right up to the cliffs.
🚗 By car:
From Göreme, it's about 10 minutes to the Love Valley Viewpoint. There's parking and a coffee kiosk there.
🚴 By ATV or horseback:
A popular sunrise route follows the valley among the cliffs.
⸻
What to see:
— Stone "pillars" up to 40 meters high—the most unusual natural formations in Cappadocia.
— Narrow paths leading to the foothills of the cliffs.
— A panoramic view of the entire valley from the observation deck.
☕ Tip: It's best to arrive early in the morning, while the balloons are flying overhead and the valley is still empty.
