About a 45-minute ferry ride from Cairns, Green Island, located in the Great Barrier Reef, is a paradise resort with crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches. Despite its small size, Green Island offers snorkeling and diving opportunities to encounter colorful fish and coral, and a glass-bottom boat makes it easy to explore the underwater world. 🐠✨
The island's beaches are shallow, so I couldn't see many fish. For those looking for a full snorkeling experience, I recommend taking a boat from Green Island to the outer reef. ⛵️
Snorkeling on the outer reef allowed me to see plenty of fish and even sea turtles. 🐢

The island has a well-maintained promenade, so you can stroll through the tropical rainforest. Enjoy a relaxing day on the beach or some active marine activities. 🏝
There's also a restaurant and a shop where you can grab ice cream and snacks.

Access is by ferry from the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. It may depend on the ship and the day, but there were some Japanese staff members. The ferry can be a little chilly, so bringing a jacket will keep you comfortable, even if it's a bit of a hassle.
You can stay overnight on the island, and there are plenty of day trips available, making it a convenient place to visit. Green Island is a must-see spot where you can enjoy both the ocean and nature while in Cairns. ✨
