📆Opened in 1998, closed in 2018, and reopened in 2024,
I've been wanting to visit the Ocean Aquarium ever since I heard it reopened. I have many fond memories from years past.
🌉This time, I came to the aquarium because I learned they had evening hours, which I thought was quite interesting.
Entering the park at 5pm, it wasn't too late. The sea turtle at the main entrance was quite the showman, perfectly timing its flipper flaps for a photo op. 👋It seemed to know the visitors were there, swimming non-stop where people gathered.
▪️First, I passed the sea lion exhibit. It seemed a bit preoccupied, perhaps because the other sea lions had already gone to eat.
▪️There were NPCs in the square interacting with visitors, posing for photos, and even dancing together.
▪️The dolphinarium seemed to be closed for the evening, but the aquarium next door was the main event tonight.
▪️As soon as I entered, a shark was patrolling its territory, seemingly not quite satisfied with the size of its home.
▪️The beluga whale was having a blast in the evening. It turns out it really does enjoy playing with children, turning its head to watch whenever someone waved.
▪️The Jellyfish Dreamland and Mysterious Amazon exhibits were worth taking one's time to appreciate.
▪️There was a mermaid performance in the Ocean City area on the first floor at 8pm, along with a performance by little elves.
⭐️The advantage of visiting at night is the smaller crowds, allowing for a leisurely, up-close experience with the marine animals.
For 100 RMB, you can immerse yourself in the azure waters teeming with marine life. 🪸It's quite peaceful.
The park itself isn't very large, 🐬housing over 300 species and approximately 10,000 marine animals. You could probably cover it in a little over an hour, but taking my time, 🧜🏻♀️💓watching the animals interact and enjoying the mermaid show, I spent nearly 3 hours.
