A Hidden Gem Hotel in Nansha, Guangzhou – Pottery with Kids and Celebrity Encounters

A Nansha Weekend That Wowed My Kids! Staying in the Octonauts-themed family suite and even bumping into celebrity Huang Qishan—can you believe it? This weekend was absolutely legendary! Our two-day, one-night trip to Nansha, Guangzhou, was pure magic.

✨Sleeping in the Octonauts' Secret Base!
The moment we opened the door, my kid screamed with joy! The room was filled with adorable Octonauts merchandise, even the tent was Octonauts-themed! I loved their bedding set with cute little fish prints. Attention to detail was top-notch: kid-friendly amenities, plush toys… My child was so excited they refused to sleep, insisting on staying up all night with Kwazii (Captain Barnacles' little sidekick)! 🌙

🍽️Seafood Feast at Fisherman’s Wharf on the 2nd Floor
For lunch, we headed straight to "Fisherman’s Wharf" on the hotel’s second floor! The seafood was so fresh it felt like it jumped straight from the ocean onto our plates 🦐! Special shoutout to the salmon—no skimpy slices here, just thick, generous cuts. 😋

🎨Becoming Little Artists on the 1st Floor
We happened to catch the opening ceremony of the Maitian Xinwang & Uncle Martin Art Club on the first floor. My little one dove into pottery and painting and couldn’t be pulled away 🎨. The teachers were super patient. Both of us painted our favorite designs on trays, and my kid bragged about it a hundred times on the way home! Totally worth it!

🏃‍♀️Gym Encounter of a Lifetime!
I headed to the gym to burn off some calories, but—oops—I forgot my room key and couldn’t get in. Thankfully, a kind woman doing yoga got up to open the door for me. When our eyes met, I froze… Wait, isn’t that… Huang Qishan?! I tried to play it cool (while internally freaking out), and she even smiled at me. What a day! It’s inspiring to see celebrities staying so disciplined. Huang Qishan was incredibly sweet! I thought about asking for a photo, but I figured she was on vacation and didn’t want to bother her. Still, just seeing her in person made the whole trip worth it! 🤩
