🌉Cheung Chau Island Xindanyong Bridge Travel Guide

#Guangzhou Itinerary

Highlights: As the Guangzhou version of the "Guangji Bridge", this building located on the Pearl River on Changzhou Island is the first unique water conservancy project in my country that combines a covered bridge with a sluice. There is an antique covered bridge in the style of Lingnan gardens built on the water, with blue bricks, grey tiles, carved beams and painted buildings showing the ancient charm; under the water are sturdy water conservancy facilities. The two are integrated into one, which has both practical value and ornamental beauty. At dusk, the setting sun casts golden light, and the afterglow pours down on the railings of the corridor bridge and the shoulders of tourists. The surface of the river sparkles like broken gold. Sitting in the corridor with the cross-breeze, the summer heat gradually fades away, leaving only comfort and tranquility in the heart.

Recommended itinerary:
To go to Cheung Chau Island, you can take a boat from Yuzhu Pier and experience the leisurely water transportation; or take Metro Line 7 to Sham Tseng Station, then ride a bicycle after exiting the station to roam around the many attractions on the island. You may want to first visit Shenjing Ancient Village, wander through the bluestone alleys and old houses, and feel the charm of time; then go to the Whampoa Military Academy Memorial Hall to reminisce about the history; when passing by Zhongshan Park and the Memorial Hall of the 1911 Revolution, you can also stop to visit and appreciate the red cultural heritage. If you want to get closer to nature, the large lawn of the Urban Agricultural Park on Cheung Chau Island is a great place for camping. You can spread out your mat, put out some delicious food, and spend a relaxing time with your family and friends. Finally, walk to the Xindanyong Bridge and wait for the sunset, watching the afterglow dye the sky and the river surface into warm orange, marking the perfect end to the day's trip.
