Explore the Whampoa Military Academy and feel the pulse of history

On Changzhou Island in Guangzhou lies the Whampoa Military Academy, the "cradle of heroes" that changed China's destiny. In 1924, Sun Yat-sen founded the Military Academy here. As the crystallization of the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, it cultivated countless military and political elites and profoundly influenced the course of the Chinese revolution.

Stepping into the headquarters, the classrooms, dormitories, and offices are displayed as they were. The yellowed documents and tidy beds instantly pull people back to the passionate years. The Military Academy Club recreates the extracurricular life of teachers and students, vividly showing their talent in both military and literary pursuits. The school history exhibition tells the complete story of that magnificent history with more than 300 pictures and more than 170 physical objects. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Monument carry Sun Yat-sen's deep expectation that "the revolution has not yet succeeded."

The Whampoa Military Academy is open to the public for free from 9:00–17:00, Tuesday to Sunday. Whether you are a history buff or a tourist who wants to experience the revolutionary spirit, this is a must-see! Come and check in to hear the echoes of history!
