Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

#guangzhouguide The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as the Chen Clan Academy, is a beautifully preserved example of traditional Lingnan architecture in Guangzhou. Built in 1894 by 72 Chen clans, it served as a place for clan members to prepare for imperial examinations during the Qing dynasty. Today, it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, showcasing intricate wood, stone, and brick carvings, as well as pottery and iron engravings. Highlights include the elaborate pottery ridge crests and detailed folding screens depicting classic tales. Easily accessible via the Chen Clan Academy metro station, it's a must-visit for those interested in Chinese art and history.
