Weekend stroll in Guangzhou! Haizhu Lake free to capture stunning sunset light and shadow

Don’t want to stay home this weekend in Guangzhou? Haizhu Lake Park is perfect for relaxing and taking photos! You don’t have to spend a dime to capture sunshine, lake views, and healing little scenes all in your shots~☀️ When I went last week, I arrived at the park at 3:30 PM. Although the light was a bit strong, the path was full of shade from trees🌳, so it didn’t feel hot at all. Instead, I caught the sunlight filtering through the leaves onto the grass, creating dappled light that looks amazing in photos. Waiting for the sunset from 5:40 to 6:00 PM was even more beautiful, making me want to take endless photos with my phone!

📍Must-visit spots at Haizhu Lake

- “Changhe” courtyard glass house: An abandoned glass house deep in the park. Although the door is locked and you can’t go inside, taking photos through the door is very atmospheric! The sunlight shines on the glass✨, reflecting the surrounding greenery, creating a forest vibe that’s perfect for posing and getting great shots;

- Turn right after crossing the bridge into the park: This is my secret light and shadow spot! Sunlight filters through the branches and leaves onto the grass, forming star-like light spots🌟. Standing in the shade to take side profiles or crouching down for close-ups of the light spots, every frame looks like a scene from a movie;

- Shixiang Flower Garden: A small world full of fresh flowers and plants🌼. Just pick any flower cluster as a background, and you’ll get soft, fresh photos. It’s perfect for taking group photos with your besties;

- Huapan Pagoda Shadow: The pagoda, flowers, and lake view together, especially before sunset🌇, with soft light shining on the pagoda and flower clusters. It has both an elegant ancient style and a cozy everyday feel, making the photos very charming;

- Bird-watching Corridor & Fish-watching Pavilion: Walking in the bird-watching corridor and taking photos from behind, the wind blowing your hair makes the shot very lively💨; near the fish-watching pavilion, you can overlook the lake view, feel the lake breeze, and watch the sparkling water, so comfortable you won’t want to leave.
