We were practically alone. It was a sandstorm. The minibus makes two stops, and you can walk a bit along marked trails. The atmosphere is haunting, with adobe walls and Han ruins, and the Tang pagoda, which looks like a squat pyramid in the middle of the desert. A very evocative landscape, not far from the Yulin Caves. For me, it's worth it.
