During my two-day stay in Guilin, I wanted to watch a sunset from the mountains, so I chose the free Chuanshan Park. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t ideal that day, but I wasn’t disappointed. From the top of Chuanbei Pavilion, I could overlook the city of Guilin and its stunning karst landscape. The view was still quite impressive, and Chuanshan Park is definitely worth a visit. Unlike popular spots like Elephant Trunk Hill, this park is much less crowded, making it a peaceful experience.
Chuanbei Pavilion is the highest point in the park. Enter through the north gate of Chuanshan Park and walk a short distance toward the island in the lake. On your left, you’ll find the path leading up the mountain. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the summit. The trail consists of stone steps, which can be a bit challenging to climb. Although the hike is short, it can be tiring, so wearing sports shoes is recommended. Additionally, there are many mosquitoes on the mountain, so don’t forget to bring insect repellent. After descending, the park itself is worth exploring. A leisurely stroll around the island in the lake is quite relaxing.
