Surisan is 488m high and is also called Gyeonbulsan (見佛山). Surisan surrounds Seoul from the south of the Han River and has a long ridge extending from north to south. From the top, it is connected to Suambong (秀巖峰: 395m), which is shaped like an eagle, along the ridge. The path up the mountain is rocky and in the spring, azaleas turn red, making it popular among mountaineers.
