Breathtaking views and a Mysterious old hotel

A short drive from the base and an approximately 20 minutes past windy roads with numerous corners leads to a beautiful experience with an amazing view over looking the paddy fields of Padang Gaong village, the Langkawi International Airport, Cenang Beach and ends with the bright blue Andaman Sea from the peak of Gunung Raya or Mt. Raya named after a famous island myth.On a bright sunny day with minimal clouds you could be lucky enough to spot airplanes approaching, landing and taking off from the airport. A good 10-20 minutes should be enough to feast your eyes. “Tangga Helang Seribu Kenangan” is a spot along the road where you can park your car safely and enjoy the view.

Two corners up, I was first surprised to find an abandoned building right at the peak of this mountain with the place being quiet and far from restaurants or any tourist spots. I visited the view point after a light downpour so the weather was cooling and being 2890 feet above ground level the breeze was simply icing on the cake. Being curious I did some reading on Google and found out that the abandoned building used to be D’Coconut Hill Resort. Over the years while they were still operating the review weren’t exactly all stunning as there were some comments on spooky encounters and creepy vibes definitely not my go to although I believe there are avid seekers. However, the place is all locked and cordoned with high fences and large gate.
