2023 Explore Gyeongju Ancient Culture 2 Itinerary Planning Day 2 Sharing

Transportation Tips - KTX Local Bus
Local attractions - Dalingyuan, Liangdong Village, Foguo Temple
Food & Restaurants - hwangnidan gil, Shuying Canteen

Many people ask what else to do in #Gyeongju besides #Dae Lingyuan and #Yan Duck Pond, I naturally recommend Yangdong Village and Bokuksa Temple, both of which are #World Cultural Heritage Sites in Korea.

On the second day of the trip, from Old Gyeongju Station, take the 203, 205 bus for about an hour and a half (it doesn’t take that long, 1 hour is enough). Liangdong Village is an ancient clan village, which includes historical monuments such as Shubaitang, Incense Altar, and Xinshui Pavilion.

The village of Liangdong is built against a mountain, so you have to walk a little bit on the mountain road, but it's quite easy. Note that there are residents living in the village, however Koreans are very friendly, photography OK, however can not invade privacy, the monument is inhabited, is quite fresh. 😎 (Personal: Much better than Kitamura)

It takes half a day to walk to Liangdong Village. If you want to treat your stomach and rest, it doesn't matter, because the village has specialty restaurants and cafes.

It is a half hour drive from Yangdong Village to Bulguksa Temple. Why mention it, because Google Maps lead time is much longer than it really is.

Bulguksa Temple has more than 1,400 years of history, several of which are listed as Korean national treasures; nearby Seokgu-an is also listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site, but this time can not go, why? Because I played at the Buddha's temple for a long time. 😎

Arrive at the Buddha Kingdom Temple, pass through the Tenno Gate, there is a small bridge, flowing water, walk in to see the Great Gate. Among them, Qingyun Bridge and Baiyun Bridge are good places to take pictures.

There are many Yae cherry blossoms planted in the park below Bulguji Temple. Coinciding with the fact that Gyeongju was still open in April, I saw it for the first time and was wowed.

The in-depth tour of Gyeongju is of course more than two days, but you can see all the main attractions in two days. Gyeongju is easy to walk around as each attraction is very close and waiting for the bus to arrive in 30 minutes to an hour will not waste time in traffic. However, be aware of dining times, restaurants are mostly closed at 9pm and attractions usually close at 5:00, so plan your itinerary carefully.

Want some lunch? Go to #hwangnidan-gil near Dalingyuan, super many restaurants and cafes, very hipster, super explosive. 😍😍😍
