Echoes of the Past, Bonds of Today: A Family’s Daeneungwon Reflections

Traveling with family is always a special experience, but some places leave an especially lasting impression. Our recent visit to Daeneungwon Tomb Complex in Gyeongju, South Korea, was one of those unforgettable journeys that deepened our appreciation for history, beauty, and togetherness.

Daereungwon, often referred to as the “Great Tombs Park,” is a place where ancient history rests beneath graceful, grassy mounds. These tombs date back to the Silla Kingdom, which ruled for nearly a thousand years, and they offer a glimpse into the lives—and deaths—of royalty long past. Walking among these quiet, majestic hills felt almost like stepping back in time.
