The Minzhong Detachment Headquarters, officially the Minzhong Detachment Headquarters of the Fujian-Zhejiang-Jiangxi People's Guerrilla Column, was established in February 1949. Its former site, located near the Dayang Township Government in Hanjiang District, Putian City, Fujian Province, has become a renowned "Red Tourism" attraction in Putian. In 1994, it was designated a revolutionary tradition education base by the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. In 2000, it was designated as one of Putian's first patriotic education bases by the Putian Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. In 2004, it was designated a patriotic education base by Putian University. It serves as a base for revolutionary tradition education, patriotic education, clean governance education, Party membership oath-taking, and training for Party members, cadres, and students across Fujian Province.
The Minzhong Detachment Headquarters, located at the junction of Fuqing, Yongtai, and Putian counties, was one of the revolutionary bases in central Fujian. In 1949, over 6,000 worthy men and women of the people of central Fujian, under the unified leadership of the Minzhong Detachment Headquarters, waged an arduous struggle on this red soil. The revolutionary achievements and spiritual legacy they created are a precious part of the revolutionary memory of central Fujian.
The former headquarters of the Fujian Central Detachment now features an exhibition hall, a revolutionary epic monument garden, a memorial pavilion, stone sculptures of revolutionary heroes, a 120-square-meter conference hall, and a memorial plaza, forming a strategic spatial layout encompassing "one center, three axes, and five zones." The exhibition hall, covering 450 square meters, houses historical images and artifacts from various revolutionary periods, systematically presenting the revolutionary journey of the Fujian Central Underground Party from the Great Revolution to the War of Liberation. There are more than 40 wall hangings in the museum, more than 80 documents such as notices, leaflets, brochures, revolutionary songs used by the guerrillas, and more than 100 physical cultural relics such as guns, cannons, swords, grenades, seals, armbands, clothing, and daily necessities used by the guerrillas; the Revolutionary Epic Stele Park covers an area of about 15 acres. The main building consists of 6 corridors and 48 stone tablets. It is a garden-style building with the functions of revolutionary traditional education, cultural appreciation, and tourism and leisure. The contents of the stele mainly include revolutionary poems from central Fujian and inscriptions by old leaders and comrades. The revolutionary poems were written by nationally renowned calligraphers, with rich cultural heritage, and echoed with other attractions, forming a seamless whole.
