I had a sudden urge to go abroad, which I hadn't been able to do for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so I left my husband, who was busy with work, and set off alone to Vietnam 🤪 If I was going to Hanoi, I thought I should try Halong Bay, and when I looked it up, I found out it takes 4 hours from Hanoi and it seemed difficult to do it as a day trip, so I decided to spend an overnight stay on a boat in Halong Bay and booked a tour from getyourguide. I found a tour with a Japanese guide, but it was expensive so I gave up on it💦 I was picked up at the hotel where I was staying, and after a break for toilet and meals, we all went to Halong Bay for about 4 hours. On the way there, the schedule for today and tomorrow was explained in English, but I only understood Japanese so I didn't understand it at all. However, I checked with the guide what time and minutes we were to meet and took notes, and did my best not to be left behind😅 On the first day, we went to Sung Sot Cave in Halong Bay with everyone, climbed the stairs for about 20 minutes to take pictures of the whole of Halong Bay, and then we were free to do our own thing on the island. On the second day, we could choose to tour Halong Bay freely by kayak or ride a small boat with everyone. The most difficult thing was that there were 6 other groups of foreigners on board besides me, but because it was a compact boat, we had to share a table during meals, so it was hard to join in everyone's English conversations😅 I tried to make my presence 0🤣 I thought it was good to spend a night on such a boat The view of Halong Bay was most beautiful at sunset It was a great feeling to be able to see the scenery in 360 degrees✨When the sun went down and it became night, the lights of the other tour boats around us were very beautiful✨Vietnamese people seem to like karaoke, and other people's singing voices echoed in Halong Bay from various boats until about 9 or 10 o'clock🤣
The guides and people accompanying us on the tour were all very kind, and even though we didn't speak the same language, we went squid fishing together at night with the rods on the boat, looked at the stars, and did the same things all day, so we were able to communicate somehow
Even an older woman who only spoke Japanese and participated alone had a good time, so if you want to go to Halong Bay, I definitely recommend a boat tour where you can enjoy Halong Bay at dusk and sunrise!!
