China Snow Town near Harbin

Welcome to China Snow Town near Harbin in Heilongjiang Province, China! This picturesque village nestled among the mountains is blanketed with soft, fluffy snow ❄️🧣

✨Highlights and Must-Do Activities:
• Stroll through the village streets adorned with traditional Chinese wooden houses, red lanterns, and snow-covered rooftops. The village is quite large, so take your time exploring.
• Snap photos at the popular mushroom-shaped house photo spot.
• Visit the replica village (entrance fee required).
• Explore the Snow Museum, which showcases history, culture, and various stories. There’s also a souvenir shop inside where you can warm up.
• Enjoy activities like dog sledding, snow horse-drawn carriages, and snow tubing.
• Take photos at shops offering traditional Chinese costumes for rent (prices vary by shop).

🎆 Fireworks are displayed in the village between 7 PM and 8 PM, depending on the season.

We visited in early January and didn’t stay overnight. Our trip lasted from around 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM, allowing us to experience both daytime and nighttime atmospheres. Since winter gets dark early, we recommend arriving in the afternoon or staying overnight to enjoy the morning as well.

🍽️ There are many restaurants to choose from, offering delicious and reasonably priced food. We tried Dongbei hotpot, a northeastern Chinese dish, which was incredibly tasty and gave a local vibe. Unfortunately, we don’t remember the name of the restaurant, but it’s located within the village. Other snacks include grilled sausages and roasted sweet potatoes, perfect for warming up.

📌 Tips: Be sure to dress warmly as temperatures range from -20°C to -25°C depending on the time of year. Wear good-quality shoes as the snow can be quite slippery.
