Open Year-Round

This shrine is dedicated to the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, and decorated floats are displayed year-round except in June.

Affectionately known by Hakata residents as "Okushida-san," it is the main guardian deity of Hakata.

The enshrined deities are Owatatsumi-no-Mikoto (Kushida Shrine) in the main hall, Amaterasu Omikami (Ojingu Shrine) in the left hall, and Susanoo-no-Mikoto (Gion Shrine) in the right hall.

It is the oldest guardian deity of Hakata.

The sacred well, where cranes gather, known as the "Tsuru Well," is a sacred spring that springs from beneath the main hall and is believed to grant eternal youth and longevity.
