Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse Group, the hipster shopping market in Hakodate, Hokkaido. It seems that every city has a cultural and creative tourism warehouse, such as Huashan in Taipei, Pier-2 in Kaohsiung, and even in Hokkaido, Otaru and Hakodate!

There are a total of seven warehouses, with more than 50 shops of various sizes, ranging from restaurants and pubs, handicrafts, accessories and clothing, to souvenir shops. It is basically the base camp of the cultural and creative market. There is also Hakodate-exclusive cream ice cream, which you must come to report when you travel to Hakodate.

Built in 1909, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse was once an important trading base in Hokkaido and has witnessed the prosperity and changes of Hakodate. It is now transformed into a tourist warehouse and is divided into four major areas: Kanemori Home, Hakodate History Plaza, Kanemori Western Museum, and Bay Hakodate.

I wanted to find a pub or seafood donburi restaurant, but it was packed, so I had to go to the Joker Burger across the street. I unexpectedly discovered that the Jinsen Red Brick Warehouse is even more charming after the lights are turned on at night than during the day. With a few golden ginkgo trees as the backdrop, it is a perfect northern landscape painting limited to autumn!
