We arrived… Goryokaku Tower, a beautiful high-angle observation tower of Goryokaku Park, a star-shaped fortress over 150 years old. The highlight here is that we can see a wide-angle view of the star-shaped fortress including the surrounding moat from Goryokaku Tower. This park has thousands of cherry trees planted in spring. This is a cherry blossom viewing spot in Hokkaido. We came in winter, and the park was covered in snow as shown in the picture. We traveled by tram and got off at Goryokaku Park Station. It took about 10-15 minutes to get there. Then, we went to the tower, bought a ticket, and took the elevator to the observation deck. We could see the city view and Mt. Hakodate as well.
