— Hakone Yumoto is Hakone's oldest hot spring resort, said to have opened during the Nara period.
Also known as the terminus of the Hakone Tozan Railway and the Romancecar, this area offers excellent access and is the perfect base for sightseeing.

• The area around the station tends to get crowded, so we recommend strolling around in the morning or early afternoon.
• Be sure to pick up souvenirs that are truly Hakone, like "Yumochi" (chimoto rice cakes) and "Yosegi-zaiku" (marquetry).
• Bring a towel for a great value day trip to the hot springs.
• There are many slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes!
