✅China Fan Museum, located in Gongchen Bridge West Historical and Cultural Block in Hangzhou, the exhibition hall is divided into four parts: 'The Origin and History of Chinese Fans', 'Chinese Fan Culture', 'Chinese Fan Industry', 'Exquisite Fan Art', which fully outline the fan culture in China.
✅Fans have a long history in China, and related documents can be traced back to before the Xia Dynasty, or the Yu Shun period. The early fan industry center should be in Qi and Chu, hence the saying 'Qi Wan Chu Bamboo'.
✅Hangzhou is a famous city in China for producing folding fans. It was famous all over the country as early as the Southern Song Dynasty. It is known as 'Hangzhou Elegant Fan'. Its fan art enjoys a high reputation. Many famous painters and calligraphers of all ages have left immortal works. Hangzhou fans are as famous as silk and tea, and are called 'Three Uniques of Hangzhou'.
✅In the long development process, the fan craft has evolved from simple practicality to exquisite carving and elegant viewing. It is the result of the integration and promotion of folk crafts and poetry, calligraphy, painting, and carving.
