West Lake is the heart of Hangzhou. Google Hangzhou and a gazillion pictures of the lake pop up on your screen! It was part of the Qiantang River over 2000 years ago. It’s also known as the lake of love as a result of its link to numerous Chinese love stories. The lake is HUGE and there are definitely a ton of things to explore around as well.

What to do at West Lake 👇🏼
➡️ Have a walk around, there are numerous paths and bridges. 👣🌳 Lots of photo opportunities 📸
➡️Take a boat ride on the lake! You can choose between the wooden boats or the big ones. Prices usually range from 40- 100 ¥ depending on the duration and boat type. 🛶
➡️ There are restaurants and cafés around the lake, some have gorgeous views. Nice to chill and sip some coffee or beer ☕️ 🍺 😎
➡️ Watch the sunset 🌅 Absolutely beautiful 😍
➡️ Grab a Hello Bike and ride around the lake! I rode around the whole lake once. So exciting! 🚴

The closest metro 🚇 station to the lake is Longxiangqiao on line 1. (龙翔桥地铁站）
