Hangzhou Drum Tower is one of the most important tourist attractions in Hangzhou. It is located east of Wu Mountain in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, south of Shiwukuixiang, north of Dajing Lane, east of Zhonghe Road, and west of Wugong Mountain. In ancient times, it was a coastal enemy tower, built in the Southern Dynasty during the Five Dynasties period, and was demolished during the Ten Years of Turmoil. The Drum Tower is about 1,400 years old and was formerly known as Xinchengxu, Chaotianmen, Gongbei Tower, Laiyuan Tower, and Zhenhai Tower. It is commonly known as the Drum Tower. The reconstructed ancient building has become a landmark building in Hangzhou, echoing the City God Pavilion on the west side of Wu Mountain.
