Immerse yourself in the world of fairy tales at Moomin Valley Park and experience the thrilling feeling of a trip to Scandinavia
Spreading out on the shores of Lake Miyazawa in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, Moomin Valley Park is a theme park where you can experience the story of Moomin.
I visited on an early summer afternoon. The park, surrounded by the forest by the lake, is just like Moomin Valley in Finland. The world of the story is realistically reproduced, with the Moomin House, lighthouse, and Snufkin's tent, and just walking around makes your heart leap.
At Emma's Theater, you can enjoy a show featuring songs and dances by the characters, and at the exhibition facility Kokemus, you can learn about the life and work of author Tove Jansson.
There are also many seasonal events, and currently the Umbrella Sky and Hydrangea Road are creating a photogenic space.
There is an admission fee, but the experience of being immersed in the world of fairy tales is "worth more than free." Whether you're traveling alone or as a couple, it was a relaxing trip where you could experience something out of the ordinary.
