Vietnamese cuisine is appealing, with many dishes that are easy for Japanese people to eat. 🇻🇳
I ate my fill in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, Vietnam's capital. 🤤
[Vietnamese Cuisine: Pho]
📍Phở Bò Phú Xuân
This local-style restaurant probably only serves Pho Bo, a beef pho dish.
The savory broth is enhanced with a squeeze of lime, making it a truly ethnic yet easy-to-eat dish.
It's open early, so it's also great for breakfast.
A cup costs around 500 yen.
[A Very Popular Cafe from Hanoi]
📍Cong Cafe
We recommend their signature coconut coffee. 🥥
A uniquely Vietnamese yogurt coffee.
A cold coconut coffee is the perfect treat on a hot day!
There are several Banh Mi locations throughout Hanoi, and they offer Wi-Fi, making it a great place for a quick break. ☕️
[Banh Mi: Perfect for Walking and Eating]
📍Banh Mi 25
In Vietnam, you can buy one for just 200-300 yen, making it the perfect snack to satisfy your hunger. 🥪
While most places offer takeout only,
this one seems to offer in-store dining.
[If You're Tired of the Heat]
📍Chè Hương Hải 93 Hàng Bạc
If you're feeling exhausted from the heat while sightseeing, try this ice-cold ice cream.
It looks like soft serve ice cream,
but it's icy and refreshing.
The portions are so generous, you can't stop eating them. 😂
Plus, they're piled high with mango and fruit,
and by the time you finish, you'll be freezing. 🥶 lol
You might even want to share one with someone else.
There was also whole coconut juice, a common sight in Southeast Asia. 🥥
[Vietnamese-style okonomiyaki, Banh Xeo]
📍Bánh Xèo Sáu Phước
While it's called okonomiyaki, it's a unique style. It's made with crispy rice paper dough and vegetables, then dipped in sauce.
I was having trouble figuring out how to eat it,
and an older lady explained it to me. 🤣
A local dish that's more satisfying than it looks.
[You can't leave without trying this: Bun Cha]
📍Bún Chả Cô Nhung
Bún cha, said to have originated in Hanoi.
Similar to tsukemen in Japan.
Bún refers to thin noodles like somen.
I was blown away by the deliciousness of the dipping sauce. 🥹
Sweet and sour with the flavor of charcoal-grilled pork.
A Vietnamese dish I wish I'd discovered sooner.
