🌏🔥 Haidilao, Hanoi Edition – Same Fun Vibes, Different Broths!

As big fans of Haidilao, we make it a point to try their branches wherever we travel — and this visit to their Vietnam outlet at Lotte Mall Tây Hồ was another one to tick off the list.
This was our first time trying Haidilao in Vietnam, and we were pleasantly surprised by some regional differences. For example, certain broths like the crab soup aren’t available in Singapore, so we gave that a try alongside the classic mala hotpot. The crab broth had a sweet, light seafood note that was quite unique — something different but enjoyable.
However, we did notice some key ingredient differences. Items commonly found in the Singapore menu like pork belly, liver, or kidneys weren’t available here, which slightly limited our usual order.
The biggest challenge was the language barrier. Our server couldn’t speak English, and we don’t speak Vietnamese, so communication was minimal. This understandably impacted the usual high-touch service HDL is known for, though we still experienced the familiar noodle dance performance and cheerful birthday singing, which brought that signature HDL energy to the meal.
Price-wise, Haidilao globally is almost always cheaper than Singapore, so no complaints there.

Final Verdict
Haidilao Tây Hồ maintains the chain’s fun and festive vibe, with some interesting local twists in the menu. While service was affected by language limitations, it’s still a worthy stop for hotpot lovers looking to compare how HDL varies across borders.
