The Songhua River is a must-see in Harbin

In junior high geography textbook, we learned that the Songhua River originates from Changbai Mountain and is one of the major rivers in Northeast China. So, of course, a visit to Harbin requires a photo stop by the Songhua River!
We walked along Central Avenue to the end, crossed the underground street, and emerged from the underpass to the Flood Control Memorial Tower, perched on the south bank of Songhua Mountain. Along the riverbank is the long, tree-lined Stalin Park, with pedestrian and bicycle paths. Continuing east, we reached the Songhua River Railway Bridge, and further on, we reached the Songpu Bridge. Our legs weren't strong enough, so the walk felt incredibly long!
