As winter approaches, if you're planning to see snow, consider heading to Harbin in Northeast China. For travelers from Taiwan, a connecting flight is required, making the journey long but absolutely worth it! Harbin is most famous for its annual Ice and Snow World (tickets can be purchased in advance). If you plan to visit, make sure to dress warmly, as the entire venue is filled with ice sculptures, and temperatures can drop to as low as -30°C. Inside the Ice and Snow World, there are food and drink options available, but due to the crowds, it's recommended to split up and queue separately.
While in Harbin, you can also explore the local night markets after visiting the Ice and Snow World. It's best to visit the Ice and Snow World between 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM, as this allows you to experience the venue during daylight, sunset, and nighttime. This timing also helps you avoid the peak hours when most people return to their hotels (though it can still be quite crowded).
