Hat Yai wasn’t even on my original itinerary — but it quickly became one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand.
My day started with a peaceful visit to Wat Hat Yai Nai, home to one of the largest reclining Buddha statues in Thailand. The calm atmosphere was the perfect escape from the city buzz.
Next, I rode the Hat Yai Cable Car, where panoramic views of the city met golden temples perched on hilltops. Sunset here? Unbeatable. 🌇
The evening took a flavorful turn at Greenway Night Market — sizzling satay, mango sticky rice, and fresh coconut ice cream. Street food here isn’t just good, it’s unforgettable.
Hat Yai may not have the fame of Bangkok or Phuket, but that’s what makes it special. It’s authentic, affordable, and full of local heart. 💛
Pro Tip: Rent a scooter for the day and explore at your own pace. You’ll find hidden cafés, quiet parks, and friendly locals along the way.
