On the second night of our trip to Hefei, we took a night tour of Swan Lake Park.
We stayed at Tusu Loft Apartment (Hefei Swan Lake Branch), which is close to Swan Lake East Subway Station. Although it's near Swan Lake, our three-day itinerary was so packed that we didn't have time to visit during the day. So, we took a one-hour night tour of the lake.
We arrived at the Fish and Water Sculpture in the northeast corner of Swan Lake before 8:00 PM. After 8:00 PM, the landmark buildings around the lake lit up and changed colors every so often for over 10 minutes. The lights came on again at 8:30 PM.
We walked westward along the lake to the viewing platform, where we enjoyed the colorful and magnificent scenery of Swan Lake.
The night view of Swan Lake was unexpectedly beautiful! Every photo taken with our phones turned out stunning. We couldn't help but take a few more to share with everyone!
We learned that Swan Lake also has a high-altitude fountain, but we didn't get to see it this time.
The Swan Lake high-altitude fountain, originally built in 2002, uses submersible pumps as its main water-jet power. Designed to reach a height of 168m, it's the second highest in Asia, just behind Seoul's 202m fountain.
After maintenance in 2013, the Swan Lake high-altitude fountain can now reach about 160m on a clear, windless day, with a maximum height of 172m.
