The Tongmenghui Hekou Uprising Memorial Hall is located in the "Hekou Customs Site", a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Hekou County. The site was built in 1897 to commemorate the first uprising launched by Mr. Sun Yat-sen in Yunnan. The museum houses a total of 15 items including guns, swords, and lighting lamps used in the Tongmenghui uprising, as well as 56 pictures.
The Hekou Uprising was the sixth uprising planned in the southwest region after the establishment of the Tongmenghui, and it was also the first shot fired in Yunnan against the autocratic rule of the Qing Dynasty. The above content is excerpted from the introduction in the memorial hall. For those who want to understand the modern revolutionary history, there are many introductions here. #Local Tour
