No wonder it's a CCTV favorite! This low-key small city in Guangxi can no longer stay hidden…

Thanks to the recommendation from CCTV, finally here to check in at "Hepu" from Zhao Lusi's drama "Pearl Curtain Jade Screen"!
-
✅ Beihai Maritime Silk Road First Port
Transportation: High-speed train directly to Hepu Station, then about a 17-minute taxi ride to the scenic area
⏰ Summer opening hours: 10:30 AM to 1:00 AM; to avoid the sun, it’s best to arrive after 3 PM and play until night!
Summer ticket prices: 145 RMB per person, 90 RMB for students
-
Photos 1-4 show daytime views! Hepu under clear skies is incredibly photogenic!
🉑 Must-visit spots: Departure Port (where ships dock), First Port Ancient Castle (known as the Guangxi version of the Potala Palace at sea; the square in front of the castle is great for feeding pigeons and horse riding), Sea View Terrace (climb to the top glass skywalk for a panoramic view of the Maritime Silk Road First Port), West Gate Ding (a very comic-style sea lighthouse)
-
Photos 5-6 capture sunset and blue hour moments!
🉑 Enjoy a sunset sing-along at the port, join the floating market, watch the flower car parade, and feel like you’ve traveled back to the Maritime Silk Road a thousand years ago!
-
Photos 7-12 show nightlife after dark!
It’s like a real-life "Coco"!
Don’t miss the "Song of Water and Fire"! This immersive large-scale live show recreates the grandeur of the Maritime Silk Road from a thousand years ago. The stage is everywhere, actors and NPCs are right beside you, combined with various lights and water screens—it's incredibly immersive!!
After the show, there’s a sea fireworks display plus intangible cultural heritage iron flower performance—definitely not to be missed, a true visual feast!
-
Other summer activities include:
1⃣ Water fun: digging for snails and beachcombing, playing at the "Water Play Beach"...
2⃣ Intangible cultural heritage: iron flower performance + traditional brown sugar making + pottery handcraft experience
