Oze, a beloved hiking destination, continues to attract outdoor enthusiasts. This time, we entered from the Gunma side and aimed for the Oze Marshland Visitor Center.
In early June, we just managed to catch the tail end of the skunk cabbage season. The boardwalks are well-maintained and easy to walk on, making it a popular spot for elderly visitors, which is understandable. However, being a mountainous area, the weather can change suddenly, and the paths can become slippery, so hiking boots are a must.
The Visitor Center offers simple meals, paid restrooms, and plenty of chairs for taking a break.
During the peak season, the number of buses increases, but the area gets very crowded, so starting early in the morning is highly recommended.
