If you're visiting Ho Chi Minh City and want to try a unique local dish, you must not miss Vietnamese egg coffee (Cà Phê Trứng). It might sound fishy at first, but it's actually not. It's like eating meringue mixed with coffee, bitter and sweet. ☕🥚
⸻
☕ Tonkin Garden Egg Coffee & Eatery – A cafe with a garden atmosphere in the middle of the city. It feels like you've been transported to an oasis in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The shop is decorated with plants, making every corner beautiful for photos. The coffee may take a bit of a wait, and there aren't many seats, but it's incredibly delicious. We rank this cafe as our number one choice.
🏮 Little Hanoi Egg Coffee – The original egg coffee cafe. This cafe has several branches, and the cafe is spacious and has plenty of seating. The egg coffee here tends to be a bit sweet, and the price is reasonable (~40,000 VND). This is a must-visit for anyone wanting to try traditional egg coffee.
✨ BẢN Cà Phê – A bookstore cafe
A must-visit for photography enthusiasts. Their egg coffee menu emphasizes a thick, fluffy texture, making it smooth and creamy. The shop will inform you when you order that it takes 20 minutes for one egg coffee.
🍯 Eggyolk Coffee – Eggyolk Cafe
The name alone tells you that this place focuses on egg coffee, and they even have a creative matcha egg coffee menu 😂😂 You can even add two eggs. They also have egg-shaped cakes 🤣 They make great photos.
🫖 PỜ CAFÉ - SÀI GÒN
There are three branches. I went to the one near the cafe apartment. It was a bit crowded, but the atmosphere was great. I didn't have to wait too long. The egg coffee is similar to crème brûlée, and it was delicious.
