Gliding through Ninh Binh’s waterways on a small wooden boat is an experience you can’t rush. The woman rowing barely spoke — she didn’t need to. The silence, broken only by the sound of paddles and birds, said everything. As we passed through dark caves and out into wide valleys, the reflections on the water looked like paintings. It’s the kind of calm that stays with you long after you leave.
