Evening Boat Ride

While most people visit Ninh Binh during the day, I joined a late-afternoon boat ride — and it felt like stepping into another world. The water shimmered under the golden light, birds glided low, and the cliffs turned deep green as the sun set. The rower, an older woman, smiled softly as she paddled with her feet. We didn’t speak much, but the silence between us was peaceful. By the time we returned, lanterns were beginning to glow on the riverbanks.
