📍Location: Xincheng District, Hohhot, the real-life scene of "the wind blows the grass low to reveal cattle and sheep," just 30 kilometers from the city, a perfect urban backyard.
🚗Transportation Guide:
• Self-drive: Navigate to "Chiluchuan Grassland Core Area," 1 hour direct drive, free parking.
• Bus: Take routes 92 or 103 directly to the scenic spot entrance, only 3 yuan for a super affordable ticket.
• Tips: The scenic area is free to enter, horseback riding costs 80 yuan per round, and renting a Mongolian robe is 50-100 yuan per set.
✨Food, Drink & Fun:
In the morning, ride horses and shoot arrows in the grassland core area, or ride a QR-code electric scooter around Sarin Lake; in the afternoon, walk to the Morin Khuur Town to browse creative shops and listen to performances in the concert hall. At dusk, don’t miss the live show "Eternal Horse Ode," ending with a lively bonfire for thousands. For food, hit the stalls at Sun Plaza: savory milk tea with milk skin, then bite into a crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside roasted lamb leg. If that’s not enough, head to Naobao Village Food Street for some hand-pulled meat.
📸Photo Tips:
1. Grassland Interior: Wear a red dress and run for candid shots; use a 0.5x wide-angle to capture the green carpet and distant mountains, instantly becoming the movie star.
2. Wooden Boardwalk: Walk along the boardwalk for composition, stand in the middle to highlight the grassland’s depth.
3. Morin Khuur Workshop: Use a horsewhip prop for interaction, smile sideways at the camera, with the blurred background showing the instrument’s texture.
4. Sunset Viewing Platform: Shoot backlit silhouettes at 6 PM, letting the golden-red sunset fill the sky background.
⚠️Avoid Pitfalls: Don’t fall for the “deep grassland” black car scam; the core area is beautiful enough; avoid shooting at noon due to harsh light, the best light is from 4 to 6 PM; large temperature differences in the morning and evening, bring a light jacket, and don’t forget sunscreen and mosquito repellent!
