🪪 How to book and receive a card:
We booked the Octopus card through Trip.com. You can pick it up at counter A13 in the airport. Or you can buy it at the automatic ticket machine, which is also located in the airport.
🪪 How to use:
The Octopus card is a card used for public transportation in Hong Kong. Whether it's the MTR, buses, Nimibus, Trams, or even going up to Victoria Peak, you can use the Octopus card.
You can also pay at many restaurants in Hong Kong. ***Because some restaurants do not accept cash, using the Octopus card is very important.
🪪 Card type:
There are two types of cards: Sold, which is non-refundable. The card price is 39 HKD. If you don't use it all, you can refund it, but you will not get a refund for the card and the card will not be usable again. I recommend it for those who travel to Hong Kong often. This type of card is very convenient.
The other card is a rental card. The card deposit is HKD50. However, if you don't use it all, you can return it to the counter and deduct HKD11 as a deposit.
🪪 How to top up:
You can top up at 7-Eleven, minimarts, or top up machines in train stations.
